Region: Manorbier Coastal Circular, Pembrokeshire, Wales
Places To Stay: Stay in the picturesque village of Manorbier itself, nearby Tenby, or other coastal villages. Try: Pembrokeshire Coast Accommodation for a range from cosy cottages to seaside B&Bs. I stayed in Hotel Plas Hyfryd in Narberth, and it was perfect for us. It was centrally located, had a great town with everything you would need, and served a great breakfast to set you up for the day.

Hike Description
Begin either at the beach car park or in the heart of Manorbier village, you will find a charming spot with a shop, pub, and tea room. Heading east along quiet lanes, you’ll soon reach the boundary of the Air Defence Range, a Ministry of Defence training area that is fenced and clearly signposted. The coastal path skirts safely around it, offering elevated views over the sea.
Joining the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, the route turns west towards the rugged headland of Rook’s Cave, known for its dramatic rock formations and seabird activity. Continue along the clifftops to the striking promontory called Priest’s Nose, a distinctive curved headland that juts into the sea, often surrounded by cormorants and gulls.
Next comes one of the walk’s true highlights: King’s Quoit, a Neolithic dolmen (burial chamber) estimated to be over 5,000 years old. Perched above Manorbier Beach, it offers incredible coastal views and a tangible link to the area’s prehistoric past.
From here, descend towards Manorbier Castle, an imposing 12th-century Norman fortress once home to the de Barri family. Gerald of Wales, the medieval clergyman and chronicler, was born here in 1146 and famously praised the castle’s beauty. The site is open to visitors (seasonal opening) with exhibitions and gardens to explore.
